Robert G. McLeggon
Robert G. McLeggon is a Chartered Accountant and holds a MBA in finance from the Manchester Business School. Robert has been in the accounting and financial business for over thirty years and has worked in a number of industries with both local and international companies where he has played key roles in the strengthening of control environment and risk management processes by providing constructive and pragmatic solutions. Companies for which Robert has worked include:
- Ericsson’s Branch Office in Jamaica as Business Controller where he was responsible for the financial security and viability of all projects throughout the Caribbean and Central America.
- Centennial Digital Jamaica Limited (predecessor of Claro) as Financial Accountant with responsibility for the preparation and presentation of the monthly financial statements and the preparation and management of the company’s annual budget.
- Pepsi Cola Jamaica Bottling Company Limited where he served as Account Manager – Manufacturing. In this capacity he was responsible for the factory accounting including inventory control and the costing of both manufactured and imported products.
His other jobs include: Financial Controller at Theodore Investments Limited; Chief Financial Accountant at Jamaica Energy Partners; Controller at KIWI Caribbean Limited; Accountant at Brinks Jamaica Limited; and Cost Accountant at Sterling Drug International Limited.
Newton N. Newland
Newton N. Newland graduated from Utech (formerly CAST) and went to work at Capleton Jones and Company, Chartered Accountants for 3 years reaching the level of Audit Senior. He then worked at Guardsman Limited as the Assistant to the Chief Accountant and then as an Assistant Internal Auditor at Sherwin Williams Jamaica Limited. For 16 and a half years he worked at the Grace Kennedy subsidiary Versair In-flite Services Limited as Financial Controller where he was responsible for every aspect of managing the company’s finances including budgeting, tax planning and computation, internal controls and guiding the company through turbulent times in the airline industry.
The company had two branches at Norman Manley International Airport and Donald Sangster International Airport in addition to a subsidiary Industrial Catering Services Limited.
